BlastOne has now added mist blasting systems, also known as dustless vapor blasters, to their product range. Mist blasting technology is an environmentally safe, cost-effective surface cleaning method. It rapidly removes protective coatings, oxidization and graffiti. All the while minimizing dust from the abrasive blasting process. Mist blasting uses a mixture of compressed air, abrasive and water to suppress dust. BlastOne technology uses less water than older technologies. Also known as vapour blasting, wet slurry blasting or dust-free blasting. Dependent upon technology used, some brands of wetblast equipment have varying productivity and water consumption. The more water used in the wet abrasive vapor blasting process, the more there is to clean up and to contain.
The advantages of mist blasting include:
- Reduced airborne dust – mixing water with the abrasive reduces airborne dust particles by up to 90%.
- Less requirement for containment – Lower dust levels reduces the number of jobs that need containment. This provides large savings on dust sensitive sites.
- Flexibility for use dry or wet – This reduces a contractor’s capital investment by having a machine with the dual capabilities. This feature is available on specific models only
BlastOne mist blasters have 4 modes: – wet and dry blasting, wash down and blow down. As well as the benefits of mist blasting, these machines will still offer the benefits of a BlastOne system. Good ergonomics, high performance and long-lasting construction.
