Description
BlastOne have partnered with Vertidrive and Graco to fully automate the blasting and painting process for field contractors.
Its been many years since rope swing stages were banned, when the blasters and painters would haul themselves up the sides of tanks using winches and sheer muscle, it doesnt seem like those days or those men will be ever returning to our industry… so it calls for something different.
This era was followed by the world of scaffold, and now it is dominated by men working out of boom lifts, this is dangerous work, blasting and painting at extreme heights, dealing with the extremes while focusing on finishing those acres of steel projects.
INTRODUCING THE VERTIDRIVE M9 PAINTING ROBOT
Using the latest in robotic technology, our partnership has now produced the first blasting and painting robotic possibilities. The Vertidrive M9 will autonomously map out the surface of the tank, then paint it 4-8x the speed of a single man.
Using 4 magnetic, independently controlled wheels, the Vertidrive M9 can climb up the side of a tank, and paint it with ease and accuracy. Using robotics to apply coatings, combined with the 100% transfer efficiency coating contractors can apply the perfect consistent coating, that an asset owner can rely on for years of protection.
Stay tuned for further developments of the M9 Painting robot as it is released through BETA Testing into live field trials.
