When jobsite safety, productivity and profitability are on the line, companies turn to blasting robots to get the job done. Leading the way in this arena is the VertiDrive M3 Grit-blasting robot, which is designed to effectively remove coatings on vertical, horizontal and overhead steel surfaces, including everything from storage tanks and ship hulls to other large steel structures. Remotely controlled to improve operator safety and comfort – and to increase productivity – the unit offers an entirely new approach to abrasive blasting.
The M3 Grit-blasting robot can be equipped with one, two or three blasting nozzles, which can then be adjusted to the most efficient angle and distance to the surface. They are connected to three blast pots or a large multi-outlet megablaster to ensure the fastest blasting operation on the market.
The robot also makes it possible to:
- Deliver a clean, effective result in front of the robot with a blasting stroke width of approximately 60 inches, thanks to blast nozzles that are mounted on the reciprocating boom.
- Attach the unit to the wall with permanent magnets in the drive assembly.
- Reduce assembly time to approximately 10 minutes with the lightweight construction and quick connect systems.
- Eliminate the need for sandblasting out of boom lifts, thanks to new remote control capabilities.
