SmartSPARK Short Stop Deadman Control System
The Axxiom ShortStop prevents accidental activation of electric deadman systems caused by short-circuits in the control cable. This safety-enhancing option is especially beneficial when blasting at heights, or in applications where the control cable is susceptible to high wear.
The ShortStop PnP (Plug-n-play) is simple to install and includes the control module and junction box needed to convert existing electric control systems*. Both single-outlet and 4-outlet bulk pot conversions are available.
*Note: Deadman handles are unique to the ShortStop PnP. Conversion kits do not include handles, which are available separately on this page.

The Schmidt® SmartSPARK Short Stop Deadman Control System has been a staple in enhancing safety for blast operations over the past two and a half decades. Originally designed to address inadvertent activations caused by electrical shorts in deadman control lines, this system has evolved into a more user-friendly version—the ShortStop PnP (Plug and Play). This latest model retains all the safety features of the original but is packaged into a smaller, more manageable size that weighs less than 1.5 lbs (single outlet version). It is specifically designed for easy retrofitting onto existing Schmidt blast systems, facilitating installation within minutes.
