Is Your Blast Hose the Right Size? Ensure Optimal Pressure Every Time

Ensure Your Blast Hose is the Right Size for Maximum Efficiency

In the world of sandblasting, maintaining at least 100 PSI at the nozzle is crucial for efficient operations and profitability. However, during job site visits, we often find operators working with much lower pressures, which significantly impacts their performance. For instance, we recently encountered a shipyard where eight operators were blasting at just 35 PSI. The root cause? Incorrectly sized whip hoses that were too small for the nozzles in use.

Simple Rule of Thumb for Blast Hose Sizing

To avoid such inefficiencies, follow these straightforward guidelines:

  • Blast Hose = 3x Nozzle Size (internal diameters)
  • Blast Hose = 4x Nozzle size (internal diameters)

Using the correct hose size ensures that you maintain optimal pressure at the nozzle, which is vital for effective blasting and overall job performance. You can easily check your pressure using a BlastOne Nozzle Pressure Test Kit. Remember, any pressure below 100 PSI at the nozzle is costing you time and money.

If you’re facing any pressure-related issues or inefficiencies on your job site, don’t hesitate to reach out to your BlastOne representative. We’re here to help you resolve any challenges and enhance your blasting operations.
