What If Your Instrument Readings Are Wrong?

Inaccurate data in any form of instrumentation can have undesirable or even dire consequences.  Whether it be an inaccurate GPS system, a broken clock, or even a faulty oven thermometer – wrong data can cause you problems.  The same is true for all inspection instruments used on your jobsite projects.  For this reason, regular calibration of your instruments is super important.

It’s a fact that the output accuracy of electronic instruments—like voltage references, current shunts and potentiometers—will drift over time. Because of that, it’s important to make sure your instruments are periodically corrected by maintaining a calibration schedule.

Calibration ensures the data that keeps you safe and productive is reliable and steering you in the direction you desire. This data is essentially the GPS directing you toward success and profitability. Calibration therefore, is as a needed form of quality assurance.

How frequently should instruments be calibrated?

Regular maintenance schedules depend greatly on the frequency of use, the care given the instrument, as well as environmental issues such as temperature and pressure.  For those reasons, BlastOne recommends that customers establish a schedule based on their own conditions . As a reference point, customer feedback suggest that calibrating instruments at least once a year is common.

Keep your instrument readings accurate and reliable by ensuring you maintain a consistent calibration schedule.

BlastOne can provide in-house calibration services for instruments you already own – or we have calibrated instruments available for hire as well.  Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
