BlastOne International is proud to announce its Strategic Partnership with Seaspan Shipyards to deliver a state-of-the-art blast and paint facility as part of Seaspan’s continued infrastructure investments under Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy.
Under this collaboration, BlastOne will retrofit an existing building into a two-bay blast and paint hall, designed to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and overall production capacity. The upgraded facility will feature BlastOne’s patented technology, a proven system that sets new industry benchmarks for productivity, environmental performance, and lifecycle cost savings.
The facility will incorporate recyclable abrasive media and advanced airflow and filtration controls, reducing environmental impact while maintaining rigorous safety and performance standards. By leveraging BlastOne’s proprietary innovations, Seaspan will gain a world-class capability to handle large-scale ship components with higher throughput, tighter quality control, and significantly reduced operating costs.
This new facility will directly support the construction of the Canadian Coast Guard’s Polar Icebreaker, a cornerstone vessel of the fleet. The partnership strengthens Seaspan’s capacity to deliver on the National Shipbuilding Strategy, advancing Canada’s commitment to domestic shipbuilding while generating long-term economic and workforce benefits nationwide.
The formal contract signing included members of Seaspan’s executive leadership, underscoring the milestone’s significance and the shared commitment of both organizations to advancing Canada’s shipbuilding industry with cutting-edge solutions that will sustain performance for decades to come.
