A leading manufacturer of structural wind towers wanted a high production blast room for surface treatment of wind tower sections.

Strong growth in the wind industry meant that demand outstripped their production. Coupled with labor shortages, the blasting process soon became the production bottleneck.

Robotics seemed the obvious solution. However, we couldn’t disrupt production to install a new booth that could fit the robots.

BlastOne worked with the customer to carefully plan and design extensions to the existing blast room and integrate blasting robots into the existing facility.

In conclusion, blasting is now no longer the bottleneck for the plant. The blasting process consistently results in an even finish and record-breaking cycle times for each wind tower section produced.
