DeFelsko® PosiTector® SHD Shore Hardness Durometer
The PosiTector®SHD – DeFelsko’s solution for measuring shore hardness on non-metallic surfaces. Capable and configurable, it offers the following:
- Familiar. Built on the tried-and-true PosiTector gauge / body platform, with interchangeable measurement probe options.
- Capable. The SHD comes in two probe models for different hardness ranges.
- Shore A (soft to hard materials such as soft rubber, elastomers, neoprene, silicone, etc.
- Shore D (medium to extra hard materials such as hard rubber, hard plastics, epoxies, PVC, acrylic, etc.
- Configurable. Available as follows:
- Probe only. Use with your existing PosiTector gage.
- Standard PosiTector package with choice of probe.
- Advanced PosiTector package with choice of probe.

The DeFelsko® PosiTector® SHD Shore Hardness Durometer revolutionizes the way hardness of non-metallic materials is measured, combining precision, versatility, and durability. Its user-adjustable measurement time ensures compliance with national and international standards, while the Auto Ignore mode automatically disregards readings outside the standard hardness range, enhancing the validity of measurement data.
The device boasts a new 2.8″ color touchscreen with a redesigned keypad for effortless navigation, complemented by an IP65-rated enclosure that guarantees protection against dust and water ingress. This makes the PosiTector SHD suitable for use in challenging environments, ensuring long-term durability and consistent performance.
With the PosiTector interchangeable platform, the device can easily switch between various measurement probes, offering a comprehensive solution for coating thickness, surface profile, dew point, soluble salt, ultrasonic wall thickness, and gloss measurements, among others. This flexibility makes it an invaluable tool for professionals across different fields.
Data management is made simple with USB, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for seamless transfer and analysis of measurement data through PosiSoft PC, Mac, and smartphone software. Each unit includes a Certificate of Calibration showing traceability to NIST, affirming its accuracy and reliability.
