If the outer lens gets compromised, this interior lens helps keep the blast environment from reaching the business end of the light. Replace the interior lens whenever you see haze, deep scratches, cracking, or any drop in light output you can’t fix with an exterior lens swap. It’s also smart to replace it during a rebuild or whenever the light has been run with a worn-through sacrificial lens.
