CUSTOM BLAST ROOMS FOR WIND TOWER PRODUCTION

Wind tower manufacturers face unique challenges: massive part sizes, abrasive media volume, and consistent coating performance. BlastOne designs and builds turnkey blast rooms engineered for the surface preparation of wind tower sections — delivering efficiency, quality, and safety on an industrial scale.

ENGINEERED FOR WIND ENERGY PRODUCTION

BlastOne’s wind tower blast rooms are designed to handle large-scale components while maintaining throughput, safety, and environmental standards. Each system integrates abrasive recovery, dust collection, and advanced material handling to achieve consistent surface profiles — from root to flange.

Our blast room designs are modular, customizable, and scalable — whether you’re expanding an existing production line or establishing a new facility.

TYPICAL USE CASES

  • Tower section surface prep prior to coating.
  • Internal and external blasting of monopiles, cones, and flanges.
  • Offshore and onshore wind tower production lines.

Automating Surface Preparation for Wind Tower Production

CS Wind, one of the world’s largest wind tower manufacturers, sought to boost production while maintaining coating quality and safety. BlastOne designed a turnkey system with three robotic blast chambers featuring Blastman B12 robots and integrated handling systems—automating surface preparation to reduce variability, shorten cycle times, and ensure consistent, high-quality results.

Results:

Automated blasting turned a time-intensive process into a streamlined operation — increasing throughput to over 2,500 ft² per hour, eliminating manual variability, and improving safety across the line.
