Klingspor's flap discs are engineered to meet the demands of intensive grinding tasks. Whether you're dealing with large flat surfaces or intricate curved edges, these discs provide the reliability and performance needed for tough jobs. The largest advantage of the Klingspor Titan series is the longevity of the discs compared to a standard flap disc. The unique design of the trimmable backing plate allows the user to utilize the entirety of the flaps, giving much longer life. In addition, they are designed with a quick-change 5/8"-11 threaded arbors and have a unique fan design to help the disc run cooler. What flap disc do you need? The different variations each have their distinct application advantages.- Angled vs. Flat: An angled flap disc with focus the abrasive on a smaller area than a flat disc will. Angled discs are especially suited for working edges, weld seams, and rounded surfaces. A 6° angle is the most aggressive and is best suited for flat or slight contour work. A 12° angle is perfect for more contoured work and is easier to use for less experienced users. Flat discs allow faster and more consistent work on flat surfaces.
- Abrasive options: Alumina Zirconia is aggressive and a good general-purpose abrasive, while being somewhat less expensive than Ceramic. Ceramic abrasive provides maximum service life and aggression. Both versions available with an added lubricant for cooler running temperatures (preferred for stainless, usable on most metals). Non-woven is much less aggressive and produces a satin finish with a variation available with alumimum oxide impregnation for finish grinding.
